You can also attend a budget listening session, where you can meet with your legislator in a small group (or sometimes even in a one-on-one) setting.

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) held the last of six scheduled listening sessions to gather public opinion on Wisconsin’s plan for implementing federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) on Tuesday, June 27.
Those who were unable to attend a listening session may submit formal comments through June 30 via the online comment form.

As we have detailed here previously several listening sessions will be held by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) on implementation of the new federal education law, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), in Wisconsin.
Online registration is now available to participate in the sessions listed below. All sessions are open to the public and those who do not wish to register are welcome to attend as observers. If you are unable to attend the sessions but wish to provide input, there is an online feedback form available.

Last week, State Superintendent Tony Evers announced several listening sessions to inform implementation of the new federal education law the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in Wisconsin.
We want to call your attention to the listening session that will be held in Eau Claire on July 27 at the Metropolis Hotel. This session will be open to educators and non-educators alike; however, you must receive an invitation in order to participate. It is very important to attend and communicate your budget concerns with your legislators. Explain how the cuts in funding will affect students. The Joint Finance Committee will be voting on K-12 Funding on Tuesday May 19! What legislators hear in these meetings does make a difference!
