WASB State Superintendent Candidate Forum Set for Wednesday

Lowell Holtz_400x400eversCandidates Tony Evers and Lowell Holtz will meet in a WASB–sponsored State Superintendent Candidate Forum on Wednesday, March 15, as part of the WASB Day at the Capitol event.

The forum will take place from about 11:45 a.m. until about 1:00 p.m. in the Community Terrace, Level 2 of the Monona Terrace Convention Center, overlooking beautiful Lake Monona.

Both candidates have committed to participate in the lunch-hour forum, in which questions provide in advance will be asked by a moderator. Among the media who will be covering the event are WisconsinEye, Wispolitics.com, the Associated Press and several Madison-area media outlets.

Below is a list of fourteen questions developed by the WASB that you can use with legislators and candidates.

June 1 is the deadline for candidates for state Senate and Assembly to file their nomination paper signatures and other documents to run for the legislature.  The list of approved candidates with contact information is available for every office up for election this fall at the Government Accountability Board website: Candidate Tracking by Office.

Now you have the information you need to set up a candidate forum.  This will be an important opportunity to get candidates on record on crucial education issues as we head into the next legislative session and state budget process. It also offers your board an opportunity to partner with neighboring boards in putting on a forum. Below is a list of potential questions for candidates:
