Final meeting of Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding set

The Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding will hold what is expected to be its final meeting on December 19 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 412 East of the State Capitol in Madison.

Commission members will be discussing and finalizing the Commission’s recommendations for improving the school funding formula based on testimony received at previous public hearings.  No public input will be heard at this meeting.

Commission co-chairs, state Sen. Luther Olsen (R-Ripon), pictured at right above, and state Rep. Joel Kitchens (R-Sturgeon Bay), pictured above at left, made the announcement this morning.

The Commission’s recommendations could influence what Gov.-elect Evers includes in his proposed state budget for K-12 education or could serve as the basis for a legislative counter-proposal should lawmakers reject or seek to change whatever Evers proposes.
