School funding commission sets Tomahawk hearing details for May 7

The Blue Ribbon Commission on School Funding has released the details of its public hearing for Monday, May 7 in Tomahawk.

The hearing will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude by 5:00 PM.

The hearing will take place at:

Tomahawk School District
Elementary School Auditorium
1048 E. King Rd., Tomahawk, WI 54487

According to the  hearing notice:  

“Invited speakers include representatives from the following areas:  Florence County School District, Tomahawk School District, Northland Pines School District, Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance, and Northwoods Broadband and Economic Development Coalition.

“Following the invited speakers, members of the public are invited to testify and share their thoughts on school funding with the commission.  In order to ensure full participation from everyone in attendance, public testimony will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker.”

Following the Tomahawk hearing, there will be another hearing on Monday, May 21 in Turtle Lake.  That hearing will take place at the Turtle Lake School District Building Auditorium starting at 1:00 p.m. and ending by 5:00 p.m.

The final scheduled public hearing of the Commission will be held Monday, June 4 at the State Capitol in Madison. The location and starting time for the Madison hearing have not yet been established.
