CPR in Schools Grant Awarded to CESA 7

CESA 7 has announced that it has received a 2-year grant of $491,269 from the Medical College of Wisconsin to work with schools across the state to implement a CPR program, provide schools with training manikins and other materials, and connect schools with local community resources.

The grant should lessen the financial burden to schools of a new state directive on CPR instruction.

The governor signed a bill into law in April that requires school boards to provide instruction in CPR in any health education course offered to pupils in grades 7 to 12 and to provide instruction about automated external defibrillators to pupils in grades 7 to 12, beginning in the 2017-18 school year.
