Proposal to Limit Amount Schools Can Raise to Pay for Vouchers Will be Back Soon

WASB has heard that Assembly Amendment 2 to Assembly Bill 751 could be back for a committee vote as early as Monday (Feb. 8).  The bill was scheduled to be voted on Thursday afternoon before it was pulled in response to a deluge of complaints.

Assembly Education Chair, Rep. Jeremy Thiesfeldt, when asked by Rep. Sondy Pope whether the bill would be back this session said it would be.  The Assembly is expected to wrap its session before the end of February.

Whether the amendment is brought back in its current form or changed is unclear.  WASB will keep you updated and encourages everyone to keep the pressure on their Assembly representatives.
