School Referenda on the Ballot April 7

There are 74 school referenda in 56 school districts on the ballot for Tuesday’s election. These include 39 referenda to issue debt with the largest in Port Washington-Saukville for $49,400,000 being requested for additions and renovations to several schools. There are two referenda for $41 million in Deforest Area and Madison Metropolitan.  All issue debts combined total $535.9 million. There are 33 referenda for non-recurring in 30 school districts and the longest term non-recurring referendum is in Kiel which would begin in 2015 and end in 2025.  The largest non-recurring is in Wausau for $2 million over five years. Total non-recurring is $22.1 million. There are 2 recurring referenda totaling $575,000.
